As a first time buyer the Government has made a concession in that they will not charge for Stamp Duty on any purchase of a property valued at less than £250,000. As Stamp Duty is normally charged at 1% of the purchase price on properties between £125,000 and £250,000 if you are buying in this price range that is a substantial saving.


However, this concession will end on the 24th March 2012 so now is a good time to buy.
